Welcome to ActiveSMART

Hard drive status monitoring enabled!

With ActiveSMART you can constantly monitor the health status of your hard drives, track the disk space usage and find biggest files and folders, monitor hard drive temperature and prevent disk overheating, and many more.

ActiveSMART utilizes SMART technology to monitor the hard drive health, performance, temperature and other vital parameters.

Upon ActiveSMART installation, you will see its icon and a hard drive temperature in the system tray (near the clock)
From this moment on it will check your drives for potential problems and notify you before they happen.
To open ActiveSMART window right-click on its icon and choose the option “Show ActiveSMART”.

ActiveSMART support ATA, SATA, SSD, NVMe hard drives.

Quick introduction to the SMART technology

S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) consists of a number of sensors, which reside inside the drive and report their status in the form of an “Attribute”. Every S.M.A.R.T. attribute is a piece of information about the condition of a certain life-critical part of the hard drive (read and write errors, performance, temperature, etc). The attribute value may vary from 0 to 253. Every S.M.A.R.T. attribute has a minimal threshold level, defined by the drive manufacturer. ActiveSMART monitors all of the drive’s S.M.A.R.T. parameters and presents this information in a user-friendly manner.
