S.M.A.R.T. hard drive status - Quick view
Here you can check the overall S.M.A.R.T. status of selected hard drive in
a user friendly graphics form. This window is useful when you need
to quickly check drive SMART status.
The hard drive status represented as a list of S.M.A.R.T. attributes that
current drive supports. There are two color bars near the name of
every attribute. The Green bar
represents current value of the attribute, and the red bar represents a minimum threshold value
for this attribute. The current value of the SMART attribute must be less
then corresponding threshold value, so the green bar must be longer then the red one. Some hard drives has attributes with
very high threshold limits that almost equal to the current value
of the attribute, so both of the bars - green and red - are almost
equal. This is normal for certain hard disks. But this is true only if
attribute value is big (for example 100).
If the green bar is short and it less then the red bar then this
attribute is about to fail, or already failed, i.e. this attribute
exceeded its threshold level and has been marked as attribute in
Threshold Exceeded Condition
(T.E.C.) In this case Active SMART will notify you with
all the notification methods you defined for this SMART attribute.
